The French chemist Charles Lepierre names and classifies Água do Fastio as “a markedly hyposaline and very pure Mineral Water”.

Authorization to exploit Água do Fastio

The Diário do Governo (government gazette) publishes the first authorization to exploit Água do Fastio, whose spring is located in the cave of Our Lady of Fastio in Serra do Gerês, county of Terras de Bouro.

Commercialization of Água do Fastio

In 1976, construction begins on the bottling facility. Three years later, Água do Fastio is made available for purchase in 1.5L PVC bottles and 0.25L and 0.5L glass bottles.

Launch of the Fastio Family 2.5L bottle
